Company Summary

As a pre-revenue company, Provasctec generates value for its investors by advancing its lead product along the pharmaceutical development cycle. Since the closure of the pre-seed finding round (end of 2023), Provasctec has delivered the following milestones:

Key highlights:

  • The project has already received venture capital backing from experts in this field with an initial target therapeutic market valued at EUR3 billion.
  • Provasctec technology is protected by US and European patents.
  • Since the 2023 funding round, major advancement from initial idea to minimum viable product (in-vivo assay delivered proof-of-concept that cells embedded in a matrix can promote angiogenesis).
  • Confirmed the suitability of generating an off-the-shelf product (cells can be loaded ex-vivo into the membrane at high concentration, the membrane can be frozen and thawed with a high fraction of viable cells > 90% post thaw).
  • Established a prototype delivery system using a scalable manufacturing process (electrospinning) that generates a consistent form of biodegradable microfibers that arrange in a pattern that is suitable to host a high payload of cells.
  • Delivered a proof-of-concept by implanting the device/cell combination in an in-vivo CAM assays, which promoted angiogenesis and arteriogenesis.
